Short Programs and Breakout Sessions

Title: “Maximizing the ROI (Responsibility of Individuals) in Your Organization"
5 Actions for Personal Responsibility and Accountability
(This program can be delivered in a short program, half-day, one-day, or breakout session.)

“ Some favorite expressions of small children: “It’s not my fault. . . They made me do it. . . I forgot.” Some favorite expressions of adults: “It’s not my job. . . No one told me. . . It couldn’t be helped.” True freedom begins and ends with personal accountability." - Dan Zadra

We’ve all heard the classic lines used in the blame game. In fact, if we are honest, we have been guilty of using these lines ourselves. Unfortunately, shifting blame doesn’t alleviate the problems…it only creates more. Barriers to communication, loss of productivity, and low morale are just the beginning of the problems that finger-pointing creates.

But there is a solution…Personal responsibility and accountability!

In this program, Kimaka lays out an easy-to-implement process for making personal responsibility and accountability a daily practice. The audience will learn:

  • A five-step process for taking responsibility so we can focus on solutions, not problems
  • How behavioral preferences impact our willingness to take responsibility so we can recognize our own areas of resistance
  • Three questions we can ask ourselves that keep us focused on solutions
  • The difference between responsibility and accountability and how to leverage both
  • How blaming others diminishes our right to change so we can resume control of our choices

By the end, the audience will conclude that stepping into the circle of responsibility is the clear choice for anyone who wants to experience professional and personal growth. By consistently applying the principles of personal accountability, they will experience more effective problem-solving, better communication with peers, and increased productivity.

Title: “Communicating with Confidence”
How to Deliver Your Message with Confidence, Conviction, and Clarity
(This program can be delivered in a short program, one-day, two-day, or breakout session.)

A great deal of emphasis and investment is given to equip professionals with the technical skills they need to succeed in their chosen field. Unfortunately, very little thought is given to the fact that while technical skills are critical, they can all be undermined by one’s inability to communicate their ideas effectively.

This program provides a show-and-tell approach to developing your presentation skills. Whether you are talking to an audience of one or one thousand, you will know how to deliver your information in a way that doesn’t undermine your credibility.

The audience will learn:

  • How to speak so that others will listen
  • How to deliver your message with authority so that you maintain your credibility
  • How to keep your verbal and nonverbal cues consistent so you will be understood
  • How to manage your nervous habits so you don’t look uncomfortable and unsure
  • How to easily decide on the right information to include as you craft your content

Title: “Taming Tasks with Technology”
How to Manage Tasks, Email, and Meetings Effectively
(This program can be delivered in a short program, half-day or breakout session.)

We’ve all been to the typical time management classes that teach us to consider our dreams, reset our goals, and create a task list. That would be great – if it weren’t for all the things that are vying for your attention right now. You already know what to do, but the overwhelming number of tasks, emails, and meetings coming your way make it seem impossible to get control of your time.

This high-content class explores practical tips to manage your biggest time management challenges. By the end, you will see a clear path to getting out of “urgent” mode so you can spend time thinking about and pursuing your most cherished goals.

The audience will learn:

  • How to manage tasks so that you spend time on value-added activities
  • How to manage email effectively so that you don’t get overwhelmed
  • How to end each day with an empty inbox so and still be able to locate an email quickly
  • How to manage and prioritize meetings so you accomplish your objectives
  • How to deal with constantly shifting priorities so that you do can put first things first
